Steps to configure Bigpond Email in Samsung Mail App

BigPond and Samsung are two different companies where BigPond provides an internet and email service which is managed and operated by Telstra, a telecommunications brand based in Australia. On the other hand is Samsung a well known technology company all around the globe which manufactures various kinds of electronics devices, that includes smart phones. However, BigPond and Samsung are not related but BigPond email can be configured on the user Samsung smart phones devices. This allows BigPond users to access their email accounts on their Samsung smart phones devices.

To configure your BigPond email in the Samsung Mail app, follow these steps:

1. First of all the user should open Samsung Mail app on their Samsung device.

2. There you can see the three-line menu icon positioned at the top left corner of the screen where you must click it on.

3. Scroll it down where the user have to select “Settings” option from the menu.

4. In the Settings menu, the user have to select “Add account” or “Accounts and backup” option.

5. After Choosing “Email” or “Add Account” the user have to  add a new email account.

6. User bigpong valid email address and password is required in the designated fields.

7. Click on the “Manual setup”.

8. Based on user preference the users have to select “IMAP account” or “POP account”. – For IMAP (recommended): – Incoming server settings: – IMAP server: imap.telstra.com (or imap.bigpond.com) – Security type: SSL/TLS (accept all certificates) – Port: 993 – Outgoing server settings: – SMTP server: smtp.telstra.com (or smtp.bigpond.com) – Security type: SSL/TLS (accept all certificates) – Port: 465 – For POP: – Incoming server settings: – POP server: pop.telstra.com (or pop.bigpond.com) – Security type: SSL/TLS (accept all certificates) – Port: 995 – Outgoing server settings: – SMTP server: smtp.telstra.com (or smtp.bigpond.com) – Security type: SSL/TLS (accept all certificates) – Port: 465

9. Click the “Next” buttom  to continue.

10. The users have to go to the desired sync settings of their account (For example email frequency, syncing contacts, etc.).

11. For identification purposes the user must give a name for the account

12. Lastly to complete the setup process the user have to click on “Done” or “Finish” buttom which is available on the screen..
